Projects

Organize saved analyses from Explore, Analyze, Map, and other tools into named Projects and Views.

Projects are folders for your work in PersonaLive. A View is a snapshot of a tool as you left it—filters, sources, brands, geography, map layers, and the rest of the working state—saved under a project so you can reopen it later instead of rebuilding the analysis.

Use Projects when you are working across brands, clients, or workstreams and need a place to return to the same analysis. For example, you might keep one project per retailer, with separate views for national Explore, a trade-area Analyze, a Trends dashboard, and a Map of top segments.

Projects vs Views

A Project is the container. Give it a name (required), an optional description, a color, and an optional image so it is easy to scan in the Projects list.

A View always belongs to a project. It has:

  • A name you can edit (for example, Lululemon | PersonaLive Segment | National)
  • A source that shows which tool it came from
  • The saved state of that tool, restored when you open the view

You cannot save a view that is not in a project. If you do not have a project yet, you can create one at the moment you save.

Open the Projects page

In the left sidebar, click Projects. That opens the Projects page at /projects, which is the home for every project and every saved view.

The page has two layouts. Use the grid/list toggle in the toolbar to switch; PersonaLive remembers your last choice.

  • Grid — one section per project, with view tiles (thumbnail or source icon, plus the view name). Click a tile to open that view in its tool.
  • List — an expandable table. Project rows show name, description, and view count. Expand a project to see each view’s name, source, and created date.

Search matches project names and view names. In grid mode, a search that matches only some views inside a project hides the non-matching tiles. In list mode, projects that contain a matching view expand automatically.

Create a Project

Open Projects.

Click Create project (also available from the empty state when you have no projects yet).

Enter a Name (required, up to 80 characters)—for example, a brand or client.

Optionally add a Description (up to 300 characters).

Optionally choose an image (PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 750 KB) and a color.

Click Create project.

You can also create a project while saving a view from a tool: in the Save picker, choose Save to new project, then fill in the same fields.

Create a View

Views are created from the tools themselves, not from the Projects page.

Open Explore, Analyze, Trends, Cross Shop, Share of Wallet, or Map.

Set up the analysis the way you want to keep it (brand, geography, source, breakdown, map layers, and so on).

Name the view in the title field in the header (placeholder: Untitled). If you leave the name blank and click Save, PersonaLive can suggest a title from the current filters—for example brand, breakdown, and market.

Click Save (or press ⌘S / Ctrl+S).

If this is a new view (not already attached to a project), pick a project, or choose Save to new project.

You should see a confirmation that the view was saved. The Save button reads Saved until you change something.

If you are already working in a saved view, Save updates that same view in place (name and state). To start a separate snapshot, click New, set up the analysis, then Save again into a project.

New, Save, and Saved

ControlWhat it does
ViewsOpens a menu of saved views for the current tool, grouped by project. Choose one to restore it.
NewClears the current tool back to a blank/default analysis so you can start another view.
SaveWrites the current analysis into a project. First save asks which project; later saves update the open view.
SavedThe on-screen analysis matches the stored view. The button is disabled until you change filters or the title.

Unsaved work on a tool is kept as a draft if you leave and come back to the same tool before saving. Saving a view clears that draft.

Open a saved View

From the Projects page, click a view tile (grid) or a view row (list). PersonaLive opens the matching tool and restores the saved filters and settings.

From inside a tool, open the Views menu and pick a view. That menu only lists views saved from that tool (Explore views on Explore, Map views on Map, and so on).

Manage Projects

On the Projects page, open the menu on a project (grid header or list row):

  • Edit — change name, color, and image.
  • Delete — removes the project and every view inside it. This cannot be undone. Confirm in the dialog before deleting.

Empty projects still appear on the page with a short prompt to save a view from a tool.

Manage Views

On a view tile or view row, open the menu:

  • Rename — change the view name (up to 120 characters).
  • Move — send the view to a different project. This option appears when you have more than one project.
  • Delete — removes only that view. This cannot be undone.

In list mode you can also:

  • Drag a view (or a multi-selection of views) onto another project row to move them.
  • Select views with the checkboxes, then Delete the selection, or create a new project that receives the selected views.

Selecting every view in a project and deleting them can delete the project as well when nothing is left. Confirm the dialog so you know whether you are removing views, projects, or both.

Suggested workflow

Create a project for the brand or client you are working on.

Run the analysis in Explore, Analyze, Map, or another supported tool.

Name the view clearly (brand, geography, and question you were answering).

Save into that project.

Repeat for other tools so one project holds the full story—for example Explore ranking, Analyze catchments, and a Map of top segments.

Return to Projects when you need to pick up the same work, compare views, or hand yourself the next step without rebuilding filters.

Keeping related views in one project is the fastest way to move between ranking segments, mapping them, and checking trends or competitive tools without losing your place.
